Terre Ugo Maison de Lavande

When you are in the Provence during summertime, you cannot mis the wonderful lavender fields. Beautiful purple colored landscapes and subtile scents. You could opt for the big ones around Valensole, but please don’t skip my favorite lavender paradise. Situated in Puyricard, Terre Ugo is a family run field within a perfect proportion to visit it with your kid. Terre Ugo is my cherished kid-friendly lavender field near Aix-en-Provence. You can visit it this season from June 1st until August 31st.

Lovely vibes

This lavender field, only a few minutes away from Aix is just sweet and beautiful, the family has a great way of presenting. Everything is done with style, for instance even the bathroom on the terrain! The process of the ecological lavender cultivation and distillation are described in both French and English, so it makes it a mini-museum.

Next to the breathtaking lavender view, there are fruittrees, hamacs to chill in, chill sacks to sit on… So no wonder it is a popular wedding spot among the French lovebirds. Kids can enjoy themselves with a bucket full of toys, that is so thoughtful. There are relaxing chairs and you could even play petanque. Art lovers can check out the cute gallery with changing exhibitions. To enter this magical site, adults pay an entry fee of €7, kids under 12 can visit for free.

A fantastic food truck

Terre Ugo offers you a wonderful afternoon. You can even enjoy a family lunch, right on the spot. Last season Terre Ugo cooperated with several caterers, like Mana. All these details make Terre Ugo a picture perfect kid-friendly lavender field as I may say!

Besides all these magnificent aspects, there is even more to enjoy. Terre Ugo has a beautiful shop for souvenirs. Forget the tourist trap kind of souvenirs, here they only have products that are so pretty. So not only tempting when you are a tourist from abroad, but also for peeps like me that are practically neighbors.

So now I am going to tell you one more thing… Every Thursday evening starting from June 1st, Terre Ugo organizes an apéro (an after work drink). Tapas are served, Léon Cocktail Bar makes you a… yes, cocktail (with lavender!). There is also a beer and wine bar. Maybe you would rather go to this event without your little sweetheart (I will take my me-time), but hey, this is France so your kid is welcome to join. You do have to make a reservation for your apéro eve. Check every detail at www.terreugo.com.
