Playground in Rognes

My kids and I found you one of the most amazing playground in the Provence. Therefore please continue reading this blog if you are searching for a playground in the Provence which is great for both the younger and older kids. And therefore, for you!

So much to choose!

Think flying fox, a cool slide, table tennis, petanque (don’t forget to bring some ‘boules’ and just live the Provence!), a cycle and scooter track. Two years ago the village of Rognes developed this wonderful playground on the site of the former Boulodrome. Which was such a welcome initiative, as the small provencal village was always lovely to visit, but not as interesting for the kids. Up until now! Can you imagine that you would have to negotiate leaving this place as the kids can enjoy themselves for hours and hours.

You will find some sort of rubber valley where kids can run up and off the hill and find tiny trampolines. For the older kids there is a flying fox in the back of the playground, always good fun. Your time over here is even more fun when you bring a scooter of bike, so the kids can cycle or scooter around in all safety while you enjoy the sun on one of the many benches. Or bring your ‘jeu de boules’ or table tennis bats and balls as these facilities are there as well. And one of the best things: there is a toilet! This is so rare around the Provence, so I am very happy they thought about this.

A perfect place for a picnic

When you forgot to pack a picknick for your ever hungry kids, you just stroll into the village (7 minutes walk) and visit the bakery named Pain-Bêche in town for a very tasty baguette, sausage roll (tip!), or delicious pastries. It is always lovely to walk around town here, even the little police station is so adorably French. And then hurry up… back to this playground which is one of the greatest playgrounds in the Provence!

Ps. I could absolutely recommend to stay in Rognes during your Provençal holidays. Besides enjoying this cute little village, you will love being surrounded by vineyards with the best roses, or visiting other beautiful towns in the Luberon area. Aix-en-Provence is also very close, so if you would love to read more about kid-friendly activities in Aix-en-Provence, check out this article.
