Maison Sainte-Victoire

I feel extra happy now that I can share a place that is a kid-friendly restaurant near the Sainte-Victoire. Thanks to friends that idolize this venue, we visited Restaurant Maison Sainte-Victoire this summer. It is a restaurant with a menu of amazing quality and it is situated on a stunning site.

About the restaurant

At the foot of the famous Aixoise mountain La Sainte-Victoire, in the village of Saint-Antonin-sur-Bayon, lies Maison Sainte-Victoire. It is a building that situates the restaurant as well as a cute little interesting museum. Restaurant Maison Sainte-Victoire has a very impressive cuisine, ooooh and its pastries are breathtaking. Luckily for us parents the setting is very laidback, they even have coloring plates for your kid. Now that is just what we are looking for, it makes you feel welcome together with your family. But there is more that makes it even more fun to go to Maison Sainte-Victoire with your little one.

More reasons to visit

Next to the Maison you find a small aviary that houses some ducks and other birds. That is always good entertainment for the small heroes. Also very interesting for the whole family, is the possibility to make a tour with and eco-guide as well as a donkey. After our lovely meal at the restaurant, we visited the little museum of the Maison Sainte-Victoire. When I write little, I mean even tiny. Despite its size, it was just perfect to visit this place with some taxidermy of animals that live in the mountain area, as well as fossils. It is run by the province actually, le Department Bouches-du-Rhone.

Both the Restaurant Maison Sainte-Victoire and the museum have got their own timetables. The restaurant is mainly open during the day for coffee (with pastry!) and lunch. In winter it closes for several weeks. You can check their opening hours on their Facebook page. You can find more info on the museum on the website of the province. For a tour with a donkey you would have to contact the Maison itself.

Want to hike too?

I have to admit that the day we visited the restaurant, with my kids’ grandparents, we didn’t do a hike. But of course this is the place to be! There is a path towards the cross that starts at the parking, though this is really no path for young kids. I can recommend to go to the nearby Parc Départemental Roques-Hautes, where you can have a nice walk around. You can take a look on this blog to know more about this kid-friendly hike. If you would like to be inspired with other hikes, I can refer you to the active part of my website. Have so much fun at La Maison and an indulging time at its kid-friendly restaurant near the Sainte-Victoire.
