Playground Aix-en-Provence

Parc de la Torse

Looking for a playground in Aix-en-Provence, just outside the centre? Parc de la Torse is beautiful green parc in Eastern Aix with two small gated playgrounds. One more for the little ones, the other more for kids till around 8 years old. There are long paths to cycle and scooter on, the park is very suitable for playing ball or enjoying picnics (and apéros ;-).

Parc Jourdan

Quite close to the famous Cours Mirabeau in the heart of Aix-en-Provence you find this pretty city park. The park has a gated playground with some nice play objects, like a plane for example. You can definitely bring a scooter or kids bike, there is enough space for some extreme kids speed. There are a few benches for tired legs and there is enough space to have a picnic. You might even feel young again pretending you’re not so much older than the many students enjoying the park ;-).

Parc Saint-Mitre

Parc Saint-Mitre is located in the western part of Aix and is beautifully renovated with a Japanese garden. There two playgrounds next to each other, they could be divided by age groups. A very large climbing pyramid makes this place more interesting for older kids. Oh and if you really want to enjoy your free time the French way, you can throw some jeu-de-boule on the petanque track next to one of the playgrounds. We have got them in the trunk of our car now, so français. When you are into something slightly more fancy than your own baguettes from home, you can grab a good lunch (including sandwiches) on the outside terrace of the informal ‘Le Relais Saint-Mitre’. If you do go for your picnic, you have some wonderful lazy parents benches to relax on.

Parc Christine Bernard

The biggest playground in Aix-en-Provence is located in Val d’Arc. Kids will be very happy here, playing on the challenging castle, slide a cable track and swing… There are many picnic tables and you can also stretch your legs by walking along the little stream or build some dens. This is for sure the most exciting option you have searching a playground in Aix-en-Provence.

Decathlon village

At Decathlon village in Bouc-bel-Air you find a big area with all kinds of in- and outdoor sport activities. Right behind the Decathlon there is a playground with two climbing objects, one more suitable for the little ones, the other for +3/4 years. There are 2 great other things about here. First is the kids traffic area where your kid can practice cycling, skating or anything fast in a safe place. Second is the welcome presence of a Colombus coffee cafe just next to it. Yum!

Aix

When you have seen all of these playgrounds and you’re looking for another fun playground outside of Aix-en-Provence, check for example my posts on Lourmarin and Vitrolles.

Thanks for posting about Aix’s playgrounds in one place. When we moved here I was searching everywhere for a playground. Our favorite is easily the one in Val d’Arc, thank goodness for finding a good playground!
