Glacier Loucau, Puyricard

In the middle of the ‘campagne aixios’, the rural area of Aix-en-Provence, a wonderful place opened its doors. It’s the ice-cream shop Loucau with the most delicious ice-cream around Aix. Loucau is situated in the vineyards of the cute village Puyricard. 

Loucau is started by a lovely couple with a dream. Their dream has now become our dreamy love spot. From a transformed container the couple serves truly the best ice-cream around Aix. We have tried their vanilla, kiwi, lemon, strawberry and pistachio flavors and they all tasted so good. Both my kids and I are very experienced ice-cream lovers so without being modest I can say that this means something :-). 

Like you’re at a wedding

Not only the ice-cream is good, but Loucau managed to create such a beautiful spot to enjoy it even more. All kinds of tables with colorful cloths, chill chairs and benches combined with magical strings of lights. It’s like you have arrived on someone’s wedding. A bit of the same feeling you get from visiting an apéro at Terre Ugo.

When you have finished your ice-cream, you probably don’t want to leave. Well, then it’s really convenient that you can stay to enjoy a wine of the domaine Chateau de Beaupré or the local beer from Bulles de Provence!

Stroll along the Canal du Verdon

There are quite some spots to park your car or to come by bike from the village (quite a bit uphilly for the younger kids though). Feel like sticking around even more after having enjoyed the most delicious ice-cream around Aix? Then I can recommend you to walk towards the Canal du Verdon and start your little hike over there alongside the canal. It’s a very safe place to walk with your kid and you will soon spot a place to create a little cabin.
