Sports park Venelles
One of the pretty communities of Aix-en-Provence is Venelles. Just outside of the village there is a huge park with all kinds of sports facilities, Parc de Sports Maurice Daugé. The park is located in a forest environment, on top of a hill. I could really recommend to visit this kid-friendly sports park. One of the interesting places here is the swimming pool, Le centre aquatique Sainte-Victoire. It is a large and modern swimming pool, which is already great to go to with kids. But the best thing is outside: a water splashing playground. Can’t wait until summer! Well, and for it to open without any restrictions.
To keep things positive, let’s focus on what we CAN do. And that’s a lot! Kids of every age will be entertained around here. To start with the new playground, which has some very nice and challenging objects. For instance an igloo to climb in and a cool interactive playhouse. For the sports among you, one could even manage to guard your kid from the fitness area alongside the playground. Now that is efficient.
Older kids can rush their skateboards to the skate park with all kinds of (small) ramps and slides. Though skateboarders seem to become a minority, the place was crowded by kids with stunt scooters on our visit. Which is also very good entertainment (I wouldn’t say that when my kids did those stunts, I’d be hiding behind my hands). Next to this more extreme sport, kids are also free to practice basketball and soccer on the very well maintained courts. I hope you will enjoy this kid-friendly sports park as much as we did. By the way, there is a cycling lane around the park as well as good paths inside to let your kid cycle safely.
