CIAM, Aix
Let me tell you about one of the most special places in town. CIAM, Centre International des Arts et Mouvements, is a wonderful acrobatic circus in Aix-en-Provence. This cool place is located just outside of Aix and is an enchanting, cheerful place for both adults and kids. In wintertime my kids had a week of circus ‘stage’. In a real circus tent they learned all kinds of acrobatics from kind teachers. My children never got back from sports this happy!
Festival
CIAM has so much to offer. It is a very creative spot where lots of fun things are happening. In summertime the festival Jours (et nuits) de Cirque(s) take place, with acrobatic shows at night time. When your kid is in for staying up late (more important: and you are too), then this is a fun cultural night out together.
Circus school
More adapted to kids not sleeping are the ‘école’, ‘ateliers’ and ‘stages’. A few times a year CIAM organises workshops for kids, like the trapeze or juggling. Great if you are visiting Aix with your kid and like to do something unique. It is also wonderful if you live around town and feel like something different than staying at home. During several school holidays, your kid can participate in a week of circus school. Not a full day schedule, but depending on your kids age it is 1 to 2,5 hour. Now comes the most special thing, you can also have your kid go to circus school every week. That’s something else than playing tennis or dancing. Your kid would join a wonderful acrobatic circus in Aix-en-Provence.
